The La Conner Swinomish Library project is a new 5,525 square foot type V-B fully sprinkled public library located in the La Conner Historic District.  The structure doubles as the interior wood finish by using Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) Construction from Vaagen Timbers for all exterior walls 2/3 of the roofing set on long spanning steel web trusses.  Tiger Construction spearheaded the value engineering process of this project to alter the original design to meet the client’s budget and make the project happen.  This predominantly included alternative interior finishes, a redesign of the building envelope design to accommodate the more efficient CLT panel fastening method.  The library was finished on July 27^th, 2022, and the library is now open to the public.
