COMPLETION

9,000 sq ft of educational facility, classrooms, offices, and commons. Whatcom Intergenerational High School provides a new kind of school experience for systemically underserved and marginalized students in Whatcom County. Students’ brilliance and capacity are at the center of their work, and each individual learning journey rather than delivering a one-size-fits-all model. Students co-create their classroom experiences through exploring real-world problems (phenomenon-based learning), learn to recognize bias and power dynamics (critical literacy) and benefit from supportive connections between generations (Intergenerational Learning).
